The technology behind the pneumatic supports is similar to that of an automobile or bicycle tire. Each pneumatic pole contains an inner rubber tube covered by a tough and resistant woven marine polyester; the same material that has been used for boat covers for the last 30 years. Because of the small amount of pressure required, many air sources can be used to inflate the supports. Air-tanks, 12 volt air-compressors, CO2 dispensers, a spare-tire or even a bicycle pump are just a few available options. See our inflation section.

Questioning the strength and durability? AirZone tested, developed, and perfected the technology behind their product for the past 6 years. The most recent tests included placing a deflated support under the wheel of a half-ton truck and upon inflation, amazingly lifted the truck off the ground. Watch a vehicle being lifted off the ground by inflating one of our air supports under the tire, or a Hummer driving over one in our demonstrations section .

The rigidity test is demonstrated in the photo here, where a 53 lb kayak was placed on top of the AirZone 2 tent, which easily supported it's weight.

Our tents go through a quality control process that is unequalled in pneumatic technology. We have found a .02% defective rate during the manufacturing stage, which is detected and rejected during the testing phase of each product. Every tent is inspected thoroughly before it is sent out to the consumer.
